Search the Scriptures

Christ said, “Search the Scriptures.” So wouldn’t you think the Christian would be required to be diligent in reading scripture over and over to learn the truths of God’s holy word?

Times that will try men’s souls are just before us, and those who are weak in the faith will not stand the test in those days of great peril. Everyone should want an intelligent knowledge of the word of God. It is only by Bible study and daily communion with Jesus that we shall gain a clear, well-defined view of our individual responsibility and strength to stand in the day that is to come with trails and temptations. He whose life is unified to Christ by hidden links of truth will be kept by the power of God through faith unto the saving of your soul (My added words with Testimonies for the Church, vol. 5, p. 273).
