Do Not Draw Back

When you have given yourself to Jesus, do not draw back, and take yourself away from Him. Ask Him to give you His Spirit so you will be kept by His grace. You are His child, so live in Him.

This is the mystery of godliness. This picture is of the highest value to be placed in all your discourse, to be hung in your memory’s hall. Utter it with your lips. Trace it because you have tasted it and you know that the Lord is good. Meditate upon it so it is the groundwork of your every discourse. Jesus is to be lifted up before all men. When this is kept before others, your merit sinks into insignificance.

The more your eye looks upon Jesus, the more His life, His lessons, His perfection, and character are studied, the more sinful and abhorrent will sin appear to you. By beholding Jesus, you can but admire and become more attracted to Him, be more charmed by His character, and become more desirous to be like Him. Strive to have the mind of Christ. Remember He sought always the will of His Father. Therefore He never sinned, and we are to do likewise (My thoughts added to Selected Messages, book 3, p. 169).
