Moses, In Heaven Today
It’s been said that Moses was no doubt one of the humblest men who ever lived. He was educated and taught in the schools of the Pharaohs. It’s interesting to think if God had not had a work for him as a great leader, he would have gone to the top as far as a worldly position is concerned. If he had become a Pharaoh he would have received great riches, had servants to wait upon him, and had great honor and glory in the ranks of worldly living. But, the eye of faith led Moses to turn aside from all the things Egypt offered him. Hebrews 11:24 says he “refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. Therefore he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.” Verse 26. It did mean he must “suffer affliction with the people of God.” He chose not to “enjoy the pleasures of sin for (even) a season.” Verse 25. By forsaking Egypt, he had a faith that caused him to see “Him who is invisible.” Verse 27. Egypt represents the world and all it offers today. And, unless we see the reward awaiting us, which God holds out to us, we will be lost eternally. Forsaking the world means we must be willing to surrender our will completely to God. Our will is often rebellious. We too often want our own way. Unless our will is subdued and ready to be molded by God, it cannot be used by Him. We must wake up and realize that the words that give life to every prayer are, “Thy will be done.” Because of Moses’ choices, he is in heaven today. God saw fit to resurrect him and took him to Himself. Moses was privileged to share in the transfiguration of Christ. Sherry
