Be Strong and Talk of Hope, not Discouragement

For a while Jonah forgot that the God whom he served was the all-wise and all-powerful God. While he hesitated, continuing to doubt, Satan started to overwhelm him with discouragement. Yet, His God who had bidden him to go on a mission was patient and able to sustain him. The good seed was being sown and God watched over it and granted him success with an abundant harvest. In the hour of Jonah's despair the Lord did not desert him. The same story pertains to everyone. We too are modern Jonah's. Despondency in God's service is sinful and unreasonable. God knows our every necessity when we don't have a clue. We seem to get discouraged easily. If only we would be strong, and talk hope instead of discouragement, we could press our way through obstacles that seem to overwhelm us. We are in a spiritual wedlock with Jesus and His word is our assurance. Approach the Savior with the full confidence of a living faith and join your hands with His. In the end you will see that going where He leads, and doing whatever He says to do, will be a lesson where learning will be to your benefit. Think not like Jonah did in his weak moments. Don't look at others sins, but look at yourself and ask how you can measure up and if you need correction. And then look at the Redeemer who removes every sin when you humble yourself and repent. Do your part in faith and boldness. God will do the rest then it will be what's always best (My thoughts with Colligate Quarterly, July 21, 2015). Sherry
