Do you need a stone of help? Do you need to raise up your Ebenezer? What is an Ebenezer? If you have read any Bible stories than you may know about the Israelites. They were a people that continued time after time to disobey the orders of God. They lost possession of the ark of the covenant to the Philistines who held it for seven months, but not without grief. So much grief, that they came to the point where they were wanting to return it. It then ended up at the home of Eleazer, where it stayed for 20 years. During that time the Israelites got back in the favor of God, and when asked to remove everything from their lives that separated them from having a relationship with Him, they obeyed. A stone was then placed between the two towns of Mizpah and Jeshanah and it was named Ebenezer. Samuel had it placed there to remind the people that up to that point the Lord had continually helped them. Thus, the meaning "the stone of help."The same kind of separation can happen to us today. You must have a daily time of prayer, for without this you cannot lay claim to God's promises. Prayer is your Ebenezer stone of help. And at the same time you need to be listening for what God might be prompting you to lift up to Him. He loves to hear from you. Nothing is too trivial for His waiting and listening ear. Be persistent in your requests. Answers to prayer are not always immediate. God knows everything and will work out all details according to His purpose. It's His will you should be seeking.....not yours. Discover the stone of help. Raise your Ebenezer and recognize when answers come. Be bold, be a witness, and begin to share what God does in your life, and how He works to remedy those dark and teary moments. Your prayer life will be as personal as you make it. Any sincere way you choose to pray will be right with God. The important thing is to do it daily. He longs to give you the desires of your heart.Sherry
