Becoming Totally Dependant

The following words were spoken by Jesus, and may seem strange to mankind: "The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father do." John 5:19. It shows His dependence upon God his Father, who gave Him to our fallen world. If the son of mankind felt His dependence upon God, then we through that loving act who have been redeemed because of it through Jesus blood, need to, with certainty, admit we are helpless human beings. The fact is, in everything that involves how we live, without Him we can do nothing. Yet how independent man seems to be! The age we live in is rightly named, the age of independence. The do-as-I-please spirit is in the atmosphere of the air we breath; a spirit that must not be found in those who are called the children of God. The success of our lives depends upon the DEpendence and not the INdependence of those that confess Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. God longs to be a personal leader of every individual, and he wants every person to realize that they need complete dependence on Him. An independent spirit always leads (one) away from God. An independent spirit will create a spirit of criticism and faultfinding. Peace in your life will only come when you feel dependent upon God. God is the only Being that grants peace in your life. The challenge is how do I draw near to God to receive that tranquil feeling? The answer is that you must be willing to part with your self driven ways.Draw near to Him and allow Him to lead you through life with even greater help than He already offers to you. Sherry
