Trust Issues

There are many repeated negative patterns in marriages. All are fixable if both of you desire to have a better marriage. TRUST ISSUES: When one of you has trouble opening up and being vulnerable, it gets in the way of having a connection that isn’t always with static. Trust is so necessary in any situation, but in marriage it is necessary for closeness because it requires the ability to let that special someone into the deep and fragile part of you. You must be comfortable to open the door to that room in your heart. It’s sad when you think about going into that room and you hang your head because the door is hard to open. Here is where you also need to realize there are many rooms. How many rooms in your heart stay closed? The more rooms that can be entered means you are on the same page with your spouse. Unresolved trust issues can lead to many problems. Difficulty in emotional intimacy, and long periods of inexplicable silences, sexual conflicts, along with seeing your spouse as unsafe, are just a few that can create uneasiness within the marital bond. If your marriage experiences any of these unresolved patterns, it’s time to explore what creates these feelings where one or both of you is having a trust issue. This is the hard part. Pray privately about this and let God give you guidance. Sometimes it might take years, but I know God sees and knows, and seeking Him with a patient, and listening mind works (Mostly my thoughts added to Rescue Your Love Life, page 27)! Sherry
