Love Cherished in the Soul

It is conscientious attention to what the world terms "little things" that makes life a success. Little deeds of charity, little acts of self-denial, speaking simple words of helpfulness, watching against committing "little sins." These are all acts of Christianity. Our Saviour individually calls you to gratefully acknowledge daily blessings, make wise improvements of daily opportunities, and cultivate use of your entrusted talents. When the heavenly principle of love fills your heart, it will flow out to others, not because favors are received of them, but because love is the principle of action which will modify the character. It will govern your impulses, control your passions, subdue enmity, and elevate and ennoble your affections. And the love is not contracted so as to merely include "me and mine," but is as broad as the world and as high as heaven. Love cherished in the soul sweetens the entire life and sheds a refining influence on all around. Processing it we cannot but be happy. If you love God with all your heart, you will love everyone else also. It is the heavenly adorning that gives true nobility and dignity to the soul and assimilates your life to that of the Master....and where we learn about love and unity (My thoughts with Testimonies, vol. 4. pg. 224).
